rachel sermanni
Rachel Sermanni is a Scottish based singer/songwriter that makes the mundane moments mystical: shock-positive pregnancy tests in train-station toilets, coffee machine breakages, cold river swims, the regret of not saying ‘I love You', the moon & how it pulls, bare feet on wood floors, the soft glow of a house plant, ‘what even is consciousness?’, strange dreams lingering in quiet mornings…
She brims with dreamy indie-folk pop that speaks of the struggle and desire to Flow, to love, to live, to feel. Sometimes, her songs speak of the rare moments of quiet-still, found in the midst of this struggle & desire. Rachel’s most recent offering is her 4th studio album : Dreamer Awake. An in depth assortment of playful and candid vignettes, peeping into life: after birth, after separation and in the wake of recognising the internalised conditionings of patriarchy. She seeks to be honest with herself and her environment. She seeks to express from this raw place. She seeks to speak from the descent, the plateaus, the dream-catchings and contemplations of womanhood. There are no conclusions to be drawn. It is a call to arms, of sorts, to wake up and dream the future, to dismiss the external for a minute and tend to the inner landscape of heart and mind. To not be distracted. To focus on the light and the shadow in equal measure. Doors: 7:30pm / 8:00pm start Tickets: £15 Seated (stbf) Over 14s: 14-16s must be accompanied by an adult over 18 |

transmission
Devoted to recreating the atmosphere of a live Joy Division gig, Transmission emulate the sound of one of the most inventive, evocative and influential groups of their era. Joy Division were formed in the late 1970s and dissolved in May 1980 after the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis. The remaining members went on to form New Order and have achieved much critical and commercial success.
The influence of Joy Division, however, was far reaching. They were considered the pioneering band of the post-punk movement of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Forty years on you can still relive the dark, cavernous sound of Joy Division through Transmission, the UKs number one Joy Division tribute act. trucker diablo
Irish rock legends and all-round good guys Trucker Diablo return to Mac Arts. Their latest album “Tail End of a Hurricane” Recorded between lockdowns and released on 7th May 2021, has been receiving rave reviews. Trucker’s sound, described by Classic Rock Magazine as Stadium Pub Rock, has seen them share the stage with Foo Fighters, Black Stone Cherry, Ricky Warwick, Thunder and many more. The one thing you do expect from Trucker is big riffs, big choruses and big performances, and this album doesn’t disappoint. From the sing along Rock Kids of the 80s, the energy of Insects, the short sharp punch of Slow Dance or the laid back tale, Woodstock to Vietnam, you’ll know you’ve opened your front door to see the Big Truck parked up outside, engine running, exhaust fumes pumping out the pipe, door laying open invitingly………..

THE ERIC BELL TRIO (Ex-Thin lizzy)
Thin Lizzy founding guitarist, Eric Bell, is thrilled to be setting out on his first UK tour since the pandemic.
The new Eric Bell Trio welcomes two new musicians with Phil Smyth on bass, and Matt Hewer on drums. The band will be playing early classic Thin Lizzy tracks from the period of Eric's time in the band, along with blues classics and songs from his subsequent, highly acclaimed solo albums. In 1969, Eric walked into a bar in Dublin, ordered a pint and settled down to watch a band play. Two of the members of that band were Brian Downey and Phil Lynott. He was knocked out by what he saw and he asked them to form a band with him. Both duly obliged and within weeks Thin Lizzy was born. The three of them worked very hard both in the studio and on the road and three iconic albums were the result. The band also enjoyed hit single success with 'Whiskey In The Jar' and 'The Rocker'. Eric left the band in 1973 for health reasons and forged a solo career, alongside an exciting period playing lead guitar for Jimi Hendrix's legendary bassist, in The Noel Redding Band. arab strap
Following their critically-acclaimed UK Top 20 album “As Days Get Dark”, Arab Strap return with their 2nd long player for Mogwai’s Rock Action Records. “I’m totally fine with it don’t give a f*** anymore ” is due 10th May 2024
"I'm totally fine with it don't give a f*** anymore" may sound like the title of an album by a band giving up (it’s just a text from the band’s live drummer Moffat thought was funny) but in reality, it’s an album that stands to clearly define a new creative period for Arab Strap. With the band having recently wrapped up a tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of Philophobia, their new album feels charged by a desire to move forward and explore new sonic terrain. “It’s been fun but I’ll be glad it’s over so we can move on,” laughs Middleton, with Moffat echoing him. “Doing the Philophobia tour has been a way of saying goodbye to those old songs,” he says. “It’s a very quiet record so I expect next year when performing live it will be banger after banger. We've earned the right to make some noise.” Doors: 7:00pm / 8:00pm start Tickets: £30 in advance (+BF) Over 14s: 14-16s must be accompanied by an adult over 18 |

gun
The GUN story starts in 1987 and kicks up a notch for the Glaswegian rockers the following year when A&M Records beat a slew of rival labels to sign them. However, for this band known as Blind Allez and even Phobia before settling on GUN. It is a brand new 2022 recording that truly defines both who they are and where they have come from. ‘Backstreet Brothers’ features on the ‘Calton Songs’ album and is an affectionate look back at the crazy, hazy days of adolescence that teach us what is important and what we stand for. These are the lessons that have kept the band’s spirit strong, true and honest. Whilst some of the faces have changed over the years, the songs and that gang mentality have stayed strong. GUN in 2023 features Dante Gizzi [lead vocals], Giuliano ‘Jools’ Gizzi [guitar], Paul
McManus [drums], Andy Carr [bass] and Ru Moy [guitar]. Doors: 7:00pm / 8:00pm start Tickets: £29.50 in advance (stbf) Over 14s: 14-16s must be accompanied by an adult over 18 |
